Sentinal Filter Care Program

Today's high speed, high efficiency metal cutting machines depend on an ample supply of clean coolant to achieve close tolerances and maximum productivity. Barnes Coolant Filtration Equipment is designed to deliver this clean coolant economically and for years to come provided that it is properly set-up and maintained. Unfortunately, in many metalworking plants, the need to maintain production machinery and facilities takes precedence so coolant filtration systems are often overlooked or given a low priority. Therefore we are pleased to offer the following three "Sentinel" programs to assist you in ensuring top performance and long life of your Barnes' Filtration Systems. One of these three may be just right for your needs and your budget! If a customized program is preferred, we will be pleased to quote to your requirements on request.

Sentinel Program I

Four (4) visits annually by a trained Barnes Service Technician to perform the following:

  1. Inspect filter operation, recheck all settings and readjust as necessary.
  2. Recommend replacement parts as necessary and, if in stock in your plant, install these parts.
  3. Recommend spare parts.
  4. Collect diry and clean coolant samples for analysis to determine the filtration efficiency and coolant condition.
  5. Review filter settings, operation and maintenance with appropriate personnel.
  6. Issue a written report of all findings, including a detailed analysis of the clean coolant within 2 weeks of the visit.

Sentinel Program II

Two (2) visits annually by a trained Barnes Service Technician to perform the same services as above.

Sentinel Program III

Complete clean coolant analysis on samples* sent to Barnes. Within two weeks of receipt, a written report will be issued giving the following information:

Contaminant Level (mg/L)
pH test (water based coolant only)
Coolant mix ratio
Viscosity (oil based coolants only)
% water (oil based coolants only)
Magnetic particle analysis
Coolant corrosion test
Particle distribution analysis (requires a sludge sample)
Filtration efficiency (requires a dirty coolant sample)

*Note:

Sample bottles will be sent at no charge from Barnes upon request along with instructions for taking and returning the coolant sample. MSDS’s and coolant manufacture's data sheets must be sent with each sample.
